This study compared four commercial face-search tools on photographs of seven adults who consented to the searches and to publication of the result pages. All the tools focus on AI reverse image search as the most modern method for finding photos on the Internet.
The services were face2social, FaceCheck.ID, Lenso.ai, and PimEyes. The question was practical: when the same face is submitted to each product, does the result point to that person’s social media profile, to a page on the open web, or to someone else.
